Records fall at 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials

From the FIM Press Release - 08/31/2026

With the racing surface considerably better than last year and more favourable weather conditions, existing records fell and new records were set at the 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials – part of the FIM Land Speed World Records (LSWR) discipline – that ran from 23-27 August at the world-famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.

Having set a new record last year, Canadian Liane Langlois returned with her three-cylinder 2012 JKR Powersports 2295cc Triumph Rocket 111 Roadster with weighted sidecar. This time around her outfit was partially-faired which moved her into a different category and she was delighted to set another record at 146.349mph (235.526km/h) over the timed kilometre.

On Tuesday, I ran a 146.9mph on my down run,” she said. “We got out for the return run and when I was shifting through my gears, something wasn’t feeling good, but I managed to get through the timed mile at 145.7mph. The very first time I ran it in 2024, my very first pass was only 95mph! We’ve come a long way in these three years so I’m very excited for what we have done – and I get to bring another world record home to Canada!”
