Annual Awards Announced at CMA Annual Meeting

During the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Canadian Motorcycle Association, which took place in Hamilton, Ontario on January 27th, the yearly awards were announced by Vice President, Holly Ralph.

AWARD OF MERIT


The recipient chosen in 2018 was Kevin Worrall, CMA Chief Instructor for its motorcycle training programme.  Kevin lives in Toronto, On and is a secondary school teacher.

An excerpt from one of the nominations received for Kevin (there were three) says it all.

“He is a sounding board, teacher, mentor, mechanic, maid, janitor, mister fix it for our team and has always and still gives 110%”.

FULVIO CALLIMACI MEMORIAL SUPPORTERS AWARD

Recipients can be individuals or groups who have supported motorcycling and the CMA in an exceptional manner during the past year.  They are chosen by the Board of Directors based on nominations from members.

The Rocky Motorcycle Association of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta is the honouree for 2018.

Through the efforts of its Executive and clubmembers, it rescued an Ice Racing Series in decline and turned the 2018 season into a resounding success.

We are proud to have them as a CMA affiliate.

WHITE MEMORIAL TROPHY

Awarded to the Canadian rider having the best performance in winning his or her championship.


An outstanding performance by Connor McCarroll of Okotoks, Alberta could not be matched.


He captured the FIM North America Championships in Spec Supersport,. Spec Thunder, Formula Thunder, Spec Under 21 and Formula Under 21.

He earned Alberta Provincial Championship certificates in the Spec Supersport, Formula GP, Spec Under 21 and Formula Under 21 classes .

Then for good measure he travelled next door to Saskatchewan and took their Provincial Championship in Spec Supersport, Spec Thunder, Formula Thunder, Formula GP,  Spec Under 21 and Formula Under 21.

Connor tells us he has also started competing in motocross events.

PRIX ANNUELS ANNONCES A LA REUNION ANNUELLE DE LA CMA

Lors de la 72ème réunion annuelle de l’Association Motocycliste Canadienne, qui s’est déroulée à Hamilton, Ontario le 27 janvier, les prix annuels ont été annoncé par la Vice-Présidente, Holly Ralph.

PRIX DE MERITE


Le récipiendaire choisi pour 2018  est Kevin Worrall, chef instructeur de la CMA pour son programme d’entrainement de motos. Kevin demeure à Toronto, Ontario et est professeur dans une école Secondaire. Un extrait d’une des nominations reçues pour Kevin (il y en avait trois) le décrit bien. ‘Il  est une personne exceptionnelle, professeur, mentor, mécanicien, homme à tout faire, concierge, monsieur « fix-it » de notre équipe et a toujours donné et donne toujours  des efforts  à 100%. ‘

PRIX FULVIO CALLIMACHI  MEMORIAL SUPPORTEURS

Les récipiendaires peuvent être des individus ou groupes qui ont supporté le motocyclisme et la CMA d’une manière exceptionnelle  durant  la dernière année. Ils sont choisis par le Conseil des directeurs basé sur les nominations de la part des  membres.

Le’ Rocky Motorcycle Association’ de Rocky Mountain House, Alberta a été honoré pour 2018. Dû aux efforts de son  comité exécutif et des membres du club,  ils ont sauvegardé les séries de courses sur glace qui étaient en déclin et ont  tourné la saison 2018 en un franc succès.

Nous sommes fiers de les avoir comme club affilié à la CMA.

TROPHEE ‘WHITE MEMORIAL’

Accordé au coureur canadien qui a eu la meilleure performance en gagnant son championnat.



Il s’est mérité les certificats de Championnat  provincial en Alberta dans les classes Spec Supersport, Formula GP, Spec moins de 21 ans et Formula moins de 21 ans.

En plus de tout ça, il  s’est rendu en Saskatchewan  et a remporté leur championnat provincial  en Spec Supersport, Spec Thunder, Formula Thunder, Formula GP, Spec moins de 21 ans et Formula moins de 21 ans.

Connor nous dit aussi qu’il a commencé à compétitionner dans les épreuves de Motocross.
