A Report from Anthony J Towstego, October 10, 2024

Motors were roaring, for the 50-year anniversary of the Saskatoon Track n Trail club's founding on Saturday, September 22, 2024

While riders ripped through the mx track on the 160 acre trails outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan called Ottopasso Trails, people new to the sport were invited to come and put on the training wheels to try the sport for themselves in a controlled environment.

In attendance was long time race Veteran , Paul Imrie who was one of the original Track n Trail founding members 50 years ago, along with Lon and Anthony Towstego, Stan Schewchuk and several other visionary members.

Paul experienced seeing his beautiful maintained shinny Maico he owned once again hit the track nearly 50 years later… it was breathtaking for the long time CMA member,  as Rick Bradshaw commented, “Paul was on the  CMA national board of directors for many years as the Sask Region representative. Possibly 10+ years until 1988 “

“He was also a National level referee. He taught a CMA ref school in Spring of 87 at the Track N Trail club house that I attended. He likely trained many others”.

Paul commented,  “This is an incredible milestone that represents a long legacy of motocross racing in Saskatoon and all of Saskatchewan.“

"I also proud to be a Life member of the CMA, # 202."

Dallas Bartel is the president of the Saskatoon Track N' Trail. He spoke to CTV News right after getting off the same he's been riding since he was a child.

"I started here when I was about seven, or eight. I had a little bike and I just wanted to ride and race with others," said Bartel.

Bartel says he fell in love after his first ride. He stresses that Track N' Trail is a good environment for anyone no matter their skill level.

"Anyone just starting out racing on a big bike, to experienced pros who have been doing this for years," said Bartel.
