FIM-PUBLICAFFAIRS.COM IS “GO”!

January 11, 2018 //  by Heather

FIM Press Release

The FIM launches a new platform for professionals interested in public policy and road safety for motorcyclists.

In 1988 the FIM established a panel to address these issues, led by the late Neville Goss MBE, Deputy President of FIM. In the same year FIM became a recognised non-governmental organisation at the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations office in Geneva. Two years later, the FIM commenced work in Brussels with the institutions of the European Union, advocating for motorcycling and defending the interests of riders.

Today, the FIM is pleased to launch a dedicated site to provide professional bodies with a platform for the publication of targeted content: news and analysis of current issues facing the motorcycling world; portraits of people active in the public affairs world; a calendar of events where FIM is engaging with partners, conferences FIM is attending and FIM’s own public affairs initiatives; and a library of the best reports and studies on motorcycling safety. The library also includes rider training manuals for basic and advanced rider training.

FIM-PUBLICAFFAIRS.COM IS "GO"! This site will not only enable professionals to discover, appreciate and recognise the FIM’s major contribution on these questions that are vital for the future of the practice of motorcycling, but will also be a rich source of information and data for all our Affiliated National Federations in the area of Public Affairs, who will be able to use this material for their own advocacy at national and regional level.

Steve Aeschlimann, FIM Chief Executive officer said: “We want this platform to be open. It is a forum for exchange of views. At the recent FIM policy debate in Brussels I asked those attending to make contributions for this launch today and I thank all the contributors. Another reason for this work is to help experts by providing an open, “one stop shop” with quality content to assist those working in motorcycling safety and public policy.”
