A MOMENT OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR MOTORCYCLE SPORT

At a press conference held on Tuesday, March 18th, the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame announced its newest members.

The class of 2014 includes Larry Bastedo, being inducted as an Athlete/Builder, Motorcycling. He shares the honour with inductees from the worlds of Water Polo, Football, Diving, Basketball and Powerlifting.

It is a major moment when a community the size of Hamilton recognizes and honours the sport of motorcycling, by inducting one of its members into a Hall of Fame which includes the likes of Russ Jackson (football), Dave Andreychuk (hockey) and many Olympic medal winners.

The 2014 Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner will take place at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on September 18th. If you would like to join Larry in the celebration and show your support for the Hall of Fame, tickets can be obtained through the CMA office. Please contact Heather at results.cma@bellnet.ca. Tickets are $100 each.

UN MOMENT HISTORIQUE POUR LE SPORT DU MOTOCYCLISME

Lors d’une conférence de Presse tenue mardi, le 18 mars, le «Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame» a annoncé ses nouveaux membres.

La classe 2014 incluait Larry Bastedo, étant reconnu comme athlète/fondateur, motocyclisme. Il partage cet honneur avec ceux du monde de water-polo, football, plongée, basketball et levée de poids.

C’est un événement important pour une communauté de la grandeur de Hamilton de reconnaître et honorer le sport du motocyclisme, en nommant un de ses membres dans le «Hall of Fame», qui inclue des personnages comme Russ Jackson (football), Dave Andreychuk (hockey) et beaucoup de champions de médailles olympiques.

Le dîner pour les nominations de «Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame» 2014 aura lieu au «Carmen’s Banquet Centre» le 18 septembre.
